Jun 27, 2025PHOTOS, VIDEO: Full Test Track 3.0 Queue Tour and Ride POV - WDW News Today
Test Track presented by General Motors at EPCOT is now open for Cast Member previews and WDWNT got to ride the reimagined attraction.
Test Track is in the World Discovery neighborhood of EPCOT. As WDWNT previously reported, the ride has reverted to its original General Motors sponsorship. The previous iteration, Test Track 2.0, was presented by GM, a division of Chevrolet.
It offers single rider, Lightning Lane, and standby queues, which all enter under the ride’s brand-new entrance overhang. The attraction’s main color is still blue. Signage is blue with silver trim and accents. Cast Members wear two-tone blue shirts.
The queue is split into showcase rooms, taking guests through the history of automotive advancement. The first room is about mobility and innovation. The queue uses more of the blue and silver color scheme with sleek, curved designs.
The all lowercase “general motors” wordmark is illuminated above the entry doors. Blue car imagery is on the walls and hanging elements in the center of the room.
The displays start with the era of 1910 – 1970. The first car guests pass is the Astro III car concept from 1969.
Two more cars represent visions of autonomy from 1970 – 2010. The Transportation and Ticket Center is featured in one of the videos playing in the queue.
The second room is about sustainability and electric vehicles. There is information about how an EV can power a house, and a house can power an EV.
These display cases feature information about reducing waste, recycling, and the connection between innovation and sustainability.
There are several small silver models of different retro-futuristic vehicles.
The “car” displayed here is a deconstructed base of a vehicle. Guests can see Test Track ride vehicles going by a window in this room.
The final hallway has screens displaying safety information.
Now it’s time to board your own Test Track vehicle. The loading area has the same basic arrangement, but with updated design details to match the new retro-future vibe. The number decals and signs for each row have rounded corners.
Most yellow has been removed from the space, except for the numbers and flooring closest to the vehicles. There are new circular lights and blue neon strips on the ceiling.
The ride vehicles, as previously covered, are now black instead of blue, but have blue accents in the form of numbers, logos, and other details.
The seats have new black upholstery. The seatbelts are black with yellow trim.
After boarding but before the ride properly begins, guests go through a seatbelt check. They are then introduced to their guide and automated vehicle, the narrators of the attraction.
The ride first takes guests through today’s technology, showcasing how cars can use advanced sensors to scan the world around them. A preview of this scene shared on Disney Parks Blog explained that Imagineers represented this LiDAR technology with over 29,000 light nodes.
Guests then learn about how transportation technology will progress into the future. They cruise down a “smart road” built with inductive charging that keeps EVs powered.
Next, guests see how they could potentially customize their vehicle at home, with screens to the sides showcasing different designs over the vehicle they’re riding. A garage set features models of each iteration of Test Track ride vehicles.
Now it’s time to “kick back and enjoy the ride” as vehicles take guests on a road trip through different environments. This culminates in a look at a city of the future with flying cars, a Monorail, and other technological advancements. The ride vehicle then takes off outdoors, zooming around the building.
There’s a reference to World of Motion, the original EPCOT attraction that Test Track replaced, when the vehicle says, “It’s always fun to be free!” with a familiar musical queue. “It’s Fun to Be Free” was the theme song of World of Motion.
As guests exit, they pass a mural of the retro-futuristic city they saw on the ride.
The General Motors showroom features various cars and GM representatives on hand to talk about them. The cars are displayed between blue rounded walls, with a black walkway curving past them.
There’s an EV display featuring a car mural with neon light strips representing the charger.

Test Track officially reopens to all guests on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. After Cast Member previews, there will be previews for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Club 33 Members, and Golden Oak residents.
